Join representatives from the University of Pittsburgh’s College in High School (CIHS) program for an in-depth look at how dual enrollment can transform the way students engage with real-world science. This session highlights GEOL 1330: Sustainability Flash Lab, an innovative, hands-on course that introduces high school students to foundational concepts in sustainability, environmental systems, and human–earth interactions.
Participants will learn how CIHS partners with schools to expand access to rigorous university-level coursework, support teacher credentialing, and ensure high-quality student experiences. We will explore the structure of GEOL 1330, sample learning activities, and the ways the Sustainability Flash Lab model encourages inquiry, problem-solving, and data-driven thinking.
